AAC on Ubuntu

Having spent the last week or so finally sorting out my iTunes library and subsequently sorting my iPod out too, I came across the problem that Ubuntu wouldn’t play any tunes that I had encoded through iTunes on my PowerBook.

This apparrantly is to do with the files being encoded with the AAC codec, as its not “free as in speech” it isn’t installed with Ubuntu. after some searching about I found all you need to do is fire up Synaptic and search for the gstreamer-0.10-plugins-bad-multiverse package. Install that restart Rhythmbox and the tunes were playing no problem at all!!
