Definitely behind with the posts, as I am sitting here at Disney the night before the Half-Marathon writing this!
I am behind mainly due to New Year and moving house and the new house not having Internet yet (long story).
Nothing really much to report for the penultimate week. The mileage was less than the week before, 4M, 6M, 4M midweek and then 4M, 8M at the weekend.
The only really interesting thing that happened was the 6M run turned out to be the fastest I had managed all year! The first time I have averaged < 8min/mile. What was even more impressive was it was set in a howling gale, and also at 10:30AM! That might not sound too impressive to some people, but living in Cayman being able to run when the sun is up and it not being too hot is a rare thing!
This can be evidenced by the fact that I really suffered on the 8M run on the Sunday as I ran it at 7:00AM, there was not a cloud in the sky, and although there was a stiff breeze it was from the South, so not cooling, just warm. I also didn’t really take it that seriously, thinking it was only a short run, but then realising that 8M is still a long way to go!
